Chambers set for Premier League trial after his first NI goal
He was part of the NI side that was just four minutes from a historic success before Wales snatched two late goals and the trophy along with them.
However, Jack can now turn his sights to brighter times ahead, as he has a tial at Premier League side West Bromwich Albion to look forward to.
He will head to the Midlands on 21st November, playing a match in the morning before being brought to take in the first team’s league match against Arsenal.
Chambers has already been at Rangers and Sunderland and is hoping to make more trips to full-time clubs before aiming to win a contract next summer.
He bagged his first international goal in last week’s Victory Shield campaign, scoring the only goal in the 1-0 win over Scotland. And they only needed a further point to pick up the trophy.
“The last game was against Wales,” he said. “We were told at half-time that we only needed a draw to win the Victory Shield but with four minutes lef they scored to make it 2-1 and that was the end of our hopes. Heartbreaking.”
The week was brilliant though, from scoring the winner against Scotland, even to getting beat at the late stages of the last game, it was a brilliant week, personally and collectively.”
