Charity match in memory of Islandmagee’s Stuart Ross

The club’s second-team will take on a Glentoran Legends XI at Wilbourne Park on Sunday, August 24 (1pm kick-off). Proceeds from the game will go to CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).

Last September local football clubs stood united in tribute after the tragic death of the 25-year-old during a game at Wilbourne Park.

Rivalries and results meant nothing as news filtered through of his untimley passing, with countless teams and players expressing their condolences in the hours and days that followed.

Stuart died suddenly while playing for Islandmagee Seconds - a side made up largely of friends. They were taking on Shankill United’s reserve team.
