Chris wins U16 league title with Reds

Ballymena goalkeeping starlet Chris Simpson has just completed a very successful season by winning the NIBFA U16 premier youth League Title with Cliftonville FC.

Chris, who plays a year above his age group in the acclaimed NIBFA League, played the full 70 minutes in 16 of the 18 matches, keeping eight clean sheets.

The Cambridge House Grammar School student joined the Reds after having played in a successful Larne Youth team which unfortunately folded.

Chris said: “I enjoyed my season with Cliftonville and it was good to play my part in helping the team win their first NIBFA League title after four years of trying, but the most important aspect of the season for me is that I believe I have made good progress in my development and my goalkeeping education.”
