The Brandywell men, who went into the game having suffered three league defeats in their previous four games, made a number of changes with Patrick McEleney producing a starring role alongside Ruaidhri Higgins in centre-midfield.

Another man who had a top game was youngster Michael Duffy, the winger set-up Rory Patterson for the first of his two goals, before scoring City’s third crucial goal himself.

After the game the St Columb’s College student spoke to Sentinel Sport’s Editor Kevin McLaughlin.
