Both teams created a number of chances with the best of the early opportunities falling to Steven Leckey after a lay off by Stu Dickson, unfortunately for the hosts though, his shot was fired straight at the Lurgan keeper, who made the save.

Lurgan United struck the woodwork as they threatened to take the lead but that missed opportunity was soon punished. Cloney gpt the opener through a sumptuous 20 yard chip from Keith Johnston.

Lurgan United pushed hard for the equaliser and grabbed it before the break with a header from a corner.

The visitors then pushed hard in the second period and Cloney were forced to defend deeper. The home side struggled to create chances as they tried to contain their opponents.

Derek Curran made a number of crucial saves, one from point blank range and another with the aid of the post.

However, it was not to be as Lurgan United got the winner with only six minutes remaining. They won a contentious free-kick 25 yards out, and this was expertly curled into the top corner to win the tie.

Donacloney would like to thank Peter Caldwell for his match ball sponsorship.
