Cloughwater face trip to Glenwherry for next round

CLOUGHWATER were entertaining Cunningham B in a game which had been delayed by the adverse weather.In the first half on mat one the visitors were in command of the game where the rink skipped by Billy Lynn limited the home four skipped by Ronnie Anderson to scoring on two ends and ran out easy winners 4-17

On the other mat it was a reverse situation as the home four skipped by William Adams limited the visitors four skipped by Paul Baird to scoring on two ends an were easy winners by 19 – 3

In the second half it was the home side who were in command on mat one as the rink skipped by Greg Kirk romped home by 17 – 2

On the other mat it was a much closer game as Jackie Scott’s four edged past Helen Lynn’s four by 8 – 6

Cloughwater now travel to Glenwherry in the next round

Harryville Men’s Fellowship were entertaining league leaders Killymurris Glarryford

The home side got of to a winning start on mat one where Roy Law led his rink to a 13 – 6 defeat of the visitors four skipped by Ivan McMaster

On the other mat it was a much closer game but the home four skipped by Max Johnston managed to edge out Mark McCullough’s rink by 8 – 6

In the second half the home side stretched their lead when Bobby McLaughlin’s rink got the better of Stephen Dunlop’s charges by 10 – 5

On the other mat the visitors gained a small crumb of comfort when James McWhirter’s four edged out the home four skipped by Brian Craig 7 – 9

Harryville now travel to the winner of the Cloughwater v Glenwherry tie.

The game featuring Cunningham A and 1st.Broughshane was not played as the Broughshane outfit was unable to field a team. Cunningham will now travel to 1st.Ahoghill in the next round

In a reverse venue Services entertained Maine as their hall was unavailable.

The Visiting four skipped by Lawrence McQuillan got off to the better start Against Roy Dixon’s four and at the half way stage led by 5 shots to 1. They upped their game over the closing ends but could not overhaul the Randalstown rink and went under by 6 -8.

On the other mat Eric Smyth’s charges were always in charge and ran out easy winners against Mat O’Neill’s four.

In the second half Mark Shaw’s four were always in charge against the visiting four skipped by Patsy O’Neill and gathered back 14 shots with a 19 -5 win.

Unfortunately the home side could not maintain the momentum as Billy Scullion’s four went under to the visiting four skipped by Brian Kerr by 4 – 12.

Maine now host neighbors Old Bleach in the next round.
