A good crowd attended Mullaghacall with proceeds raised on the night going to CRY.

Aaron Canning was the instigator of the opening goal on 36 minutes, his driving run from the right allowing him to eventually find Lyons deep inside the Portstewart penalty box. Home goalkeeper Joel Maddison managed to beat away Lyons’ shot, but William Wright was perfectly placed to finish off the rebound.

On 73 minutes Coleraine grabbed their second goal as Wright drove home following Grissam’s assist at a deep corner.

However, the Seahawks reduced the deficit two minutes later as Stuart Millar’s glanced header beat Findlay’s dive. And on 80 minutes Findlay was again helpless to stop a sweetly struck shot which arrowed into the bottom corner as Portstewart levelled the score.

Yet, the final significant action of the game came with two minutes left. Lyons drove into the penalty area and his cross found McGonigle who cleverly readjusted to flick home the winner.
