Cockhill Celtic in hat for sports cup draw

BUNCRANA’S Cockhill Celtic have been invited to take part in the EA Sports Cup - the draw for the first round of which will take place tomorrow (January 31)

The First Round draw, will be conducted on a geographical basis, will consist of six ties and ten byes which must include the six clubs that qualified for UEFA club competition and/or the Setanta Sports Cup.

These clubs are Cork City, Derry City, Drogheda United, St. Patrick’s Athletic, Shamrock Rovers and Sligo Rovers.

The draw will be made at the FAI National League Executive Committee meeting tomorrow.

The draw will be released tomorrow evening following the conclusion of that meeting.

The UEFA and Setanta qualifiers are Cork City, Derry City, Drogheda United, St. Patrick’s Athletic, Shamrock Rovers and Sligo Rovers. Cockhill Celtic of the Ulster Senior League and the Mayo League have been invited to participate in the competition. The holders are Drogheda United.
