Coleraine Academy Under-14s see off Bangor in the NIBFA Plate quarters

The first half was fairly open with Coleraine struggling to find their passing form, however they did have chances on goal.

Stuart Wallace hit the woodwork and Paul Brady had a goal disallowed from a dubious offside decision.

Early in the second half, Charlie O’Neill intercepted a poor Bangor pass and gave Coleraine the lead with a great strike from a very tight angle.

The Bannsiders were punished though as the second half wore on as Bangor converted from two corners after some slack defending.

However, the Coleraine midfield’s hard work helped to provide spells of possession.

The attacking moves and persistence paid off when Odhran Hillen delivered a fantastic corner which Paul Brady headed home to equalise.

Two minutes later a disputed corner was again delivered perfectly by Odhran - and again Paul stepped up to score the winning goal.

Coleraine now face Lisburn Rangers in the semi final.

Meanwhile, the Under 15 girls travelled to Solitude today to play Cliftonville Girls as they prepare for the IFA Girls League starting this summer.

The Reds proved to be an inform squad with an abundance of talent but which was equally matched by the Bannsiders in the early stages of the game.

Cliftonville got a foothold on the game with a series of early goals.

Sam Miskimmon brought a goal back for the stripes when she drilled the ball into the back of the net after a well timed pass from Abby Alexander.

Saskia Love was unstoppable with her skill and flair on the wing and continuously threatened the Cliftonville defence.
