Coleraine star signs for Ballymoney United

Moyola Park, currently top of the pile, visit Ballymoney at Riada Park at 3pm while Glebe Rangers take on Lurgan Celtic in County Armagh.

“It will be a battle, I’ve no doubt,” said Glebe manager, Peter Cairns. “It’ll be the team who takes their chances that comes out with the win.

“That is what I thought that we did so well in our win over Limavady. They arguably had the better of the ball but we were just so much more clinical in front of goal.

“If we can get as comfortable and confidant as they were on the ball the I think that we will start hitting teams for really big scorelines.

“The frustrating thing has been that we have had a different eleven each game and it has been difficult trying to develop partnerships and relationships between the new players. Hopefully, we will have a full squad to pick from.

“We were very clinical when we played Lurgan in the cup (earlier in the season), but Lurgan still impressed. They have three or four experienced players who will make it a real battle on Saturday.

“It’s all about patience and it will be the team that takes advantage of their chances that will win.”

For Ballymoney United, their game against Moyola Park at the Riada Park will provide the players with an opportunity to turn around their early season form after heavy losses against Dollingstown in the league, Ballinamallard in the Irish Cup and Glentoran II in the Steel and Sons Cup on Saturday past.

“Well, it’s top against bottom of the league,” said manager Chris Peacock of this weekend’s encounter with the Castledawson men. “It is what it is - our situation is that we are in the middle of a total rebuild, and that begins by getting players onto our books.”

To that end, Peacock said that he was aiming to land a number of signatures before the close of the transfer window, and has, on Sunday night, already secured a major coup with the signing of former Linfield and Coleraine star, Shane Jennings.

The Ballycastle man will be joined at United by Sunday signings, Conor McKinley and Nigel Elliot.
