Confidence takes another battering

Banbridge totally deserved their victory on Saturday at Planters Park over a very dis-jointed Dollingstown team who are lacking a lot of confidence at present.

Banbridge went in front on 10 minutes when a cross field pass from full back Moffett was mis-timed by Adam Walker and Kris Kingsberry calmly despatched the ball into the bottom corner.

A minute later it was two nil when Gourley volleyed home from inside the penalty area and to make things worse Dollingstown lost central defender Neil King with a bad knee injury and he was replaced by Aaron Rodgers.

On 35 minutes Jordan Gibson lost possession of the ball in central midfield to Matty McCartan who set up Gourley to calmly lob the Dollingstown keeper for a 3-0 scoreline.

The home side got one back before half time from Richard Donaghy, but failed in the second half to build on this and went further behind on 56 minutes when McCartan scored from a cross by Kingsberry.

Lavery then replaced Norton on 67 minutes but this didn’t change the flow of the game and Banbridge duly wrapped up a very impressive win when the ever green Stuart King produced a wonderful finish into the top corner after yet another Kingsberry cross.

This defeat leaves Dollingstown staring ever closer to the drop zone and a more committed effort by all players is needed to turn this around.
