Conway caps United win

MID-ULSTER LEAGUE DIVISION THREE

LURGAN UNITED 5
CALEDON ROVERS 0

LURGAN United produced a five-star performance to see off Caledon Rovers on Saturday.

Declan Conway proved instrumental in the success from his role within the heart of United’s midfield.

Conway’s pass picked out the run of Kyle Corrigan and a sidefoot strike kicked off the scoring.

Mark Fegan headed home a Roy McGrath corner-kick delivery ahead of Corrigan’s neat skill to steer home number three from a wide angle.

Conway produced the highlight by weaving a path past four rivals players ahead of guiding a shot into the top corner of the net.

Daryl McAdam was on hand to wrap up the rout by rounding the Rovers goalkeeper.

“It was a great response to the midweek match leading up to Saturday,” said Lurgan United’s John Darragh. “We were unbeaten from Christmas before the midweek game against Celtic Club (Lurgan No 1).

“Therefore, it was important to get back on track and everyone played a part in the strong team display.”
