Celtic started the brighter of the two sides and took the lead after fifteen minutes when Moore played a ball in behind the visitors defence and Mulligan nipped in front of the keeper to steer the ball home.

The visitors drew level ten minutes later when they pounced on a loose ball in midfield before crossing into the box were their attackers effort was deflected past Cummings in the Celtic goal. Celtic had Cummings to thank soon after when he made a great save from a 25 yard effort to deny Ambassadors the lead.

The second half was a scrappy affair with both sides failing to produce any flowing moves.

Ambassadors put the Celtic defence under some pressure with a flurry of corners but they could not breach the wall for a second time.

With time running out Moore released Mulligan in on goal and he stayed composed, rounding the ‘keeper before sending the ball into the roof of the net to ensure all three points for Celtic.
