Once again Olympic found themselves one down after 10 minutes but they tested the Woodlands keeper two minutes later as Niall Doyle set up James McGahan for a shot from 25 yards that was pushed around the post.

On 22 minutes a Barry Potter free kick found Mark Meenan and he crossed for Mickey Meenan to shoot but the keeper deflected it wide.

The Olympic equalizer came after 37 minutes when a free kick from 30 yards out was struck by James McGahan that the keeper flapped at only to see his defender deflect it into the net.

Olympic were against the wind and the slope in the second half but played the football and after 47 minutes Niall Doyle got Mickey Meenan down the right wing for a cross that Danny McNulty just failed to reach.

Woodlands then had a good chance from a corner while Olympic on 53 minutes saw Tiarnan Brennan and Niall Doyle linking up for Danny McNulty to shoot just wide.

Olympic keeper Donovan McGuckin then pushed a fierce shot over the bar on 60 minutes while Mickey Meenan fed Niall Doyle who got the ball across the box to see Barry Potter hit it first time but wide after 70 minutes.

Cookstown’s goal then was wide open after 77 minutes but Woodlands missed while Olympic made them pay two minutes later as Niall Doyle drove into the box only to be upended for the penalty which Barry Potter blasted to the net. Olympic easily held out Woodlands to grab the three valuable points.
