CookstownOlympic get ready for new season

Cookstown Olympic will continue their pre-season training on Tuesday 30th July with a session from 8.00pm on the synthetic pitch at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena and another session on Thursday 1st August on the grass pitch from 7pm at the same venue. Training will then continue every Tuesday and Thursday.

The list of pre season friendly’s so far are a home match on Saturday 3rd August against White City and then away on Tuesday 6th August Coagh Utd Res with a 7.15pm kick off. Olympic will then travel on Saturday 10th August to play Dungannon Rovers Res while on Saturday 17th August it will be a home fixture against St Mary’s from Lurgan.

This season Cookstown Olympic intend to play on the grass surface at Beechway for all their league games and it is anticipated that their league season will kick off around 24th August.

At the start of this new season Cookstown Olympic once again extend an open invitation to any footballer who wants to take part in their pre season training so that the management and coaching staff can have an opportunity to assess their ability. Cookstown Olympic will be playing in Division One in the Ballymena Provincial League which is a very competitive league against the likes of Ballyclare Comrades Res, Desertmartin and Magherafelt SB Res, York Road, Antrim Rovers and Mallusk Athletic to name a few of the teams. There will also be a referee appointed in all matches and also a number of Ballymena Provincial cup games in this league as well as our annual entry into the Mid Ulster Shield. Anyone 18 years of age or over is more that welcome to take part.
