Courts beat old rivals

THE biggest game of the weekend in the Premier Division saw Waterside neighbours Lincoln Courts easily overcome a spirted BOBB side.

Leaders Courts got back to winning ways with a 3-1 win over Don Olphert’s side. Gary Nutt, Kolyn Patterson and Gordon Murray for the Courts and young Jordan Thompson scored for BBOB.

City Colts had a massive 7-0 victory over Burndennett with Dara Duffy helping himself to four of them. Micky McDaid, Kevin Duffy and Kevin McGowan with others.

The other game in the Premier Division ended 1-1 between Sion Swifts Reserves and Dungiven Celtic Reserves with Ryan O’Kane for Sion and Emmett O’Kane for the visitors.

The First Division stays tight after this weekends games. Caw and Eglinton shared the points, drawing 1-1. Steven McCloskey on target for Eglinton.

Tullyally edged it against Claudy Utd 3-2 with Foyle Wanderers going down 2-1 to Claudy Rovers, David Cooke for the Wanderers.

Burnfoot had a big away win hitting Donemana for six. Ross Elder, John Witherow, Curtis McElwee (2) and Jason Scott (2) in a good win for Wilson Tosh’s side.

In the Second Division, Churchill and Irish Street stay top after Churchill thumped Dungiven Thirds 8-1 with John Kelly hitting an unprecedented seven goals.

Irish Street won 7-2 against Greysteel Reserves with Scott Farant getting a hat-trick and Johnny Wilson and Adam Mitchell both grabbing a brace. Gregory Doherty and Michael Boyle for Greysteel.

Roe Rovers Reserves kept the race tight with a 5-0 win over BBOB Reserves. Brendan McGonigle got Rovers started after a scoreless first half and Chris McInnes and Ricky Clarence adding two each.

Glendermott continue to improve and a Jordan Abbott goal was enough to give them victory over Limavady Rugby Res. Lincoln Courts Reserves defeated Donemana reserves 5-2 with Craig Mooney (2), Chris Smith (2) and Jamie Frame doing the business.

There was one game in the first round of the NW Junior Cup were Ardmore required extra time to defeat Kilrea 3-2. Stephen Melly, Phillip Deehan and Peter McLaughlin getting the goals to send them to through.
