Courts face old rivals BB

FOYLE Wanderers dream of an Irish Junior Cup quarter final appearance were shot to threads by a rampant Portadown based St Mary’s who put twelve passed the Magheramason men.

Lincoln Courts Premier Division title aspirations suffered a set back when they lost to the only goal of the game at Roe Rovers, in the other game in the division Greysteel defeated Sion Swifts.

There are just four Premiership games this Saturday as the Newbuildings United Reserves game against Dungiven has been postponed to enable their players to attend their first teams Irish Cup game at Coagh.

The Strollers will be hoping the weather is kind this week to enable them to have a home game played as that hasn’t happened since the Christmas break, they are away behind in fixtures but are still very much in the title race.

Drummond had a good win last time out where they showed when at full strength they are not a bad side, however this looks a difficult assignment.

Prediction: Maghera Strollers.

City Colts v Burndennett

The Colts have played more games than anyone else in the division and they are improving as a team with some promising youngsters coming through their ranks.

The ’Dennett are not the best of travellers and they also haven’t played many matches in recent weeks, that will be against them which makes the home side favourites.

Prediction: City Colts.

This Waterside derby is always keenly contested, Wayne Glenn’s side were disappointed with their defeat at Roe Rovers last week and he knows that they can’t afford to drop points if they harbour ant hopes of winning the title.

The Old Boys will go into this one as big outsiders, they have some talented players like Nicky Cooke but they simply aren’t performing, this looks like another defeat.

Prediction: Lincoln Courts.

Greysteel v Roe Rovers

Both these sides had victories last week, the home side are in mid table but don’t look likely to be concerned in the title chase that said they will always give any side a game.

Rovers did their title hopes a lot of good with their win last week, they are very confident of going all the way and they have the players capable of doing just that, this will be tight with the visitors the selection.

Prediction: Roe Rovers.
