Cracking start to busy period for Reserves

BANBRIDGE Rangers Reserves have a busy April with no less than ten matches to fulfill and got off to a great start with an emphatic victory of Silverwood United Reserves.

This was Rangers’ fifth straight victory in the league and elevates them to fourth position and fifteen points behind current leaders Goodyear who have played a staggering ten games more than Dan Thornton’s side.

The first half was dominated by the travelling Banbridge Rangers side who no less than five goals past Silverwood in the opening exchanges. Two well converted penalties from John Thompson and a brace from Neil Wilson along with an excellent left footed shot from Colin Harper meant Rangers could take their foot of the gas going into the second half.

Further goals from Dean Mallen and John Thompson added to the score line before the full time whistle which was more than needed as several players saw red for overeacting to incidents when the game was out of reach. This Wednesday

Banbridge Rangers travel to Woodlands to take on Gilford Crusaders Reserves with kick off scheduled for 6.30pm.

Following that Banbridge Rangers have four home games next week at the Tech with Crewe United on Saturday before playing Derryhirk Utd on Tuesday, Stranmillis on Thursday and then playing Portadown BBOB on Saturday 16th April.
