Cup final heartache for Derry

Derry City suffered heartache at the Aviva Stadium as St Patrick’s Athletic ended their 53 year wait to claim the FAI Ford Cup.

Peter Hutton’s side never really got going until Christy Fagan had given the Dubliners the lead early in the second half.

Although City pushed forward in search of an equaliser it was Liam Buckley’s men who netted a crucial second, deep into stoppage time thanks to another goal from Fagan.
