Cup semi-final tie at Drumahoe tonight

On Friday night, Lincoln Courts will play Claudy Rovers in the second semi-final of the City Cup this game will be played at Wilton Park (KO 6.30pm).

BBOB v Greysteel

After last weeks defeat in the City cup BB manager Don Olphert will have his players geared up to win this one.

Their main scorer Joe McCready was well marshalled by the Ardmore defence in that one.

Greysteel have had an excellent season and they have beaten some good sides to reach this stage, although they will be big underdogs they can’t be discounted.

Prediction: BBOB.

Lincoln Courts v Claudy Rovers

Premier verses the First Division in this one, the Courts having failed to catch BB in the title race will be going all out to win this competition. They have a quality side and when they are on form they are very hard to beat.

Claudy will be playing their football in the Premier Division next season after a runaway success in the First Division, they are mostly an all local side who have a never say die attitude.

Prediction: Lincoln Courts.

Meanwhile one of European football’s most highly acclaimed youth academies will be hoping to live up to its reputation when Spanish club Espanyol debut at the Dale Farm Milk Cup this summer.

The Barcelona-based club will send representatives to contest the Premier section of the international youth football tournament.

English Premier League side Southampton have shown commitment to the Ulster event as they have confirmed of their return in the Junior event.

Meanwhile, one of the tournament’s most loyal supporters, Newcastle United, are returning in the Premier Milk Cup and U-18 coach Dave Watson, the former England and Everton star, is challenging his youngsters to go one step further than the club’s representatives two years ago and win the Milk Cup.

The Dale Farm Milk Cup starts on Sunday, July 27, and ends on Friday, August 1.
