Managing Director of the NI Football League, Andrew Johnston, says that securing a brand as respected as Danske Bank is, sends a strong message that football in Northern Ireland is worth investing in.

“To extend our partnership with Danske Bank is fantastic news for the NIFL, our clubs and our supporters. Danske Bank is a hugely respected company with a strong brand and it speaks volumes that they have continued to invest in the NIFL for an additional two years.

“Since we were formed in 2013, the attendances increased by 5 per cent in the first season and this season we are up by another 14.5 per cent. When we kick-off our new season in August we celebrate our 125th year as the second oldest league in world football, and to have Danske Bank as Premiership sponsors is a great start to what promises to be an exciting year,” said Johnston.

Danske Bank Chief Executive, Gerry Mallon, added: “The Danske Bank Premiership is one of the greatest showcases of sporting talent in this country and has a huge following both at home and abroad, making it one of Northern Ireland’s top sponsorship properties.
