DARTS: Gilbert wins Individuals title

Ballylumford's W. Gilbert emerged as the winner of Larne Darts League's 2016 Individual competition, when he topped a field of 96 throwers.

The tournament produced and excellent standard of darts, with some high check-outs to boot.

Gilbert defeated R McHendry (Coast Road) in what was a competitive final. Both men are previous winners of trophy.

Results: Quarter-finals - R McHendry (Coast Road) 3-0 Brian Black (Coast Road); C King (St John’s) 3-1 P McAdorey (Legion); W Gilbert (Ballylumford) 3-0 P McRandal (St Comgall’s); M McCormick (St Comgall’s) 3-1 K McAllister (St Comgall’s).

Semi-finals - R McHendry 3-1 M McCormick; W Gilbert 3-0 C King.

Final: W Gilbert 4-2 R McHendry.
