Two goals from David Scullion helped sustain Glentoran’s march up the Premiership table.

Young Danny McKee and Jordan Stewart were also on the mark for the Eddie Patterson’s team with Robbie Hume grabbing a consolation for struggling Institute.

Glentoran surged in front after only 11 minutes. Marcus Kane was sent clear on the left by little Stewart and his cross was delicately converted by Scullion.

The Glens were gifted a second goal on 28 minutes. Goalkeeper Michael Gallagher botched a clearance to Barry Holland, whose shot was knocked off the line by Steven O’Donnell, but McKee was on hand to score.

Glentoran struck again on 53 minutes. Johnny Addis’ long throw in was headed on by Kane. Gallagher again made a total mess of things by missing his punch at the back post, leaving Stewart with a tap in.

The North West reduced matters when Matty Young was pulled down by a clumsy Scullion tackle 20 yards on 63 minutes. Hume’s free kick appeared to be caught by the wind which completely deceived Morris.
