Derby clash ends in stalemate

WAVENEY Youth FC and Northend fought out a one all draw at the showgrounds on Saturday.

Both teams were on the attack from the off with Waveney creating the better chances. Craig Gaston shot wide from twenty yards before Kyle Jackson gave Waveney the lead by lobbing the goalkeeper.

The back four superbly led by Jonny Logan defended all that was thrown at them, in particular Casey Mills who was player of the match.The second half started with Waveney on the attack but Northend ,to their credit battled hard and scored an equaliser. This match was a credit to both teams who fought hard but played fairly.

This Saturday, April 24, Waveney are away to Castleview in a league game to be played at Six mile in Ballyclare.
