Dergview grab last minute winner

Dergview 2

Tobermore United 1

TOBERMORE boss Oliver McAuley must be wondering what his side has to do to put more points on the board after a goal three minutes from time denied them a deserved share of the spoils at Castlederg last Saturday.

On paper Dergview’s recent form made them favourites in this game but as we all know that’s not how football always works and it was the visitors who looked most dangerous from the off with Neil Lamont and his new strike partner Kevin Lynch both going close. The home side came more into the game as the half wore on and with 30 minutes gone some hesitation at the back led to the ball ending up in Willie Hassan’s net going in off the unfortunate John Neil to put the home side ahead.

10 minutes later big John was involved in Tobermore’s equalizer when he was hauled down inside the box and Sean Henneghan made no mistake to level the scores from the resulting penalty kick.

The second half was a very even affair with both sides creating good chances. Lynch went close when he almost connected with a back post ball and at the other end Hassan did well to prevent the home side taking the lead again but with only 3 minutes remaining and as it seemed the points would be shared Tobermore switched off for a moment which allowed the Dergview sub too much room and he fired home the winner from just outside the box. This was another away game that Tobermore returned without anything to show for their efforts but despite the loss there were plenty of positives to take out of the game.
