Derry City: McNamee latest man to go on trial

Derry City’s Barry McNamee is the latest man to go on trial with a cross channel club.

The talented midfielder, who is currently out of contract, travels to Skybet League One club Fleetwood Town on Sunday for a week’s trial.

McNamee, who has been offered a new two year deal to keep him at the Brandywell and has held talks with Sligo Rovers and St Patrick’s Athletic, but a move to England will be his number one priority.

He would be the third Candystripes player to go on trial in recent weeks.

Michael Duffy is currently at Scottish Premiership champions Celtic and Stephen Dooley has just returned from a stint with Skybet League Two side Wycombe Wanderers.

Meanwhile club captain Barry Molloy, who too is out of contract, has confirmed that he has turned down Derry’s recent offer, but one man who has re-signed for Peter Hutton’s side is winger Josh Daniels.

The Waterside man has signed a new two year deal.
