Derry City continue their pre-season preparations this weekend when they face a Saturday Morning League Select, at the Brandywell, on Saturday (KO 2pm).

Peter Hutton’s side then travel to Drumahoe to face Institute in the annual ‘Billy Kee Memorial Match’ next Tuesday night (KO 7.30pm), before facing Crusaders, in Chris Morrow’s testimonial, at Seaview on Monday February 23 (KO 7.45pm); and the Candystripes entertain Finn Harps, on Saturday February 28 (KO 3pm).

Unfortunately one man who probably won’t be involved in some of those games is Barry McNamee.

The midfielder picked up an ankle injury, during Tuesday night’s 3-0 friendly win over a Northern Ireland Juniors Select, and had to be replaced early in the first half. Goals from Ryan Curran, Cillian Morrison and Patrick McEleney ensured City won the game.

Meanwhile the Brandywell men missed out on signing ex-Celtic winger Paul George, after the 21-year-old decided to stay in Scotland and signed with Dunfermline Athletic, until the end of the season.
