Derry finish on winningnote
DERRY City ended their Airtricity League Premier Division campaign on a winning note defeating St Patrick’s Athletic, 2-1, at the Brandywell, on Friday night.
First half goals from Simon Madden and David McDaid gave the Candy Stripes the lead at the break, but Chris Forrester pulled one back after the interval for Liam Buckley’s side.
However some smart goalkeeping by Gerard Doherty to deny James Chambers saw City come out on top, in what supporters were dubbing the FAI Ford Cup dress rehearsal.
