DERRY City manager Declan Devine was bitterly disappointed with centre-back Ryan McBride’s lack of discipline, during their Setanta Sports Cup 2-1 defeat at Drogheda United, last night.

The defender was shown a straight red card by referee Neil Doyle early in the second half following a terrible challenge on Drogs striker Gary O’Neill, this despite the manager warning his team at half-time to watch their discipline.

Incredibly the ten men took the lead just after the hour mark when Michael Rafter scored his first goal for the club, but Derek Prendergast levelled things on 68 minutes, before substitute Ryan Brennan secured the win for Mick Cooke’s side with a stoppage time winner.

After the game boss Declan Devine spoke to Sentinel Sport.
