Distillery hold sportsmans dinner


The event proved to be a wonderful success on all fronts as well as a great celebration of all things Lisburn Distillery.
A crowd in excess of 90 people attended the event with the special guest being the Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Thomas Beckett.

Hide AdSix of the players from that trophy winning 1985 team (Francis Smith, Bobby Elliman, Robert Beggs, Paul Williams, Marty Quinn & Bertie McMinn) along with manager Roy Welsh attended the event and the club was privileged indeed to also have the family of the late Robert *Buster” Andrews in attendance.


Letters of apology for being unable to attend were also read out from Tony Ferris (residing in New Zealand) and Allen McKnight (on holiday).
The evening was concluded with an auction and ballot with items such as a signed pair of Carl “The Jackal’s” boxing gloves amongst the items that went under the hammer.
The club extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended the event.
