Distillery to discuss development

Lisburn Distillery are considering plans to develop their facilities at the club’s New Grosvenor Stadium.

After a meeting held last Monday night at the ground, the club directors are to commence further discussions with various other parties and professional bodies to see how their vision for their home ground could become a reality.

Speaking after the meeting, club director Colin Hopkins said: “To see such a great turnout of supporters for a meeting on a Monday night speaks volumes as to how interested people are in seeing this club moving forward and after having to endure such tough times over the last few years we are clearly hopeful that light at the end of the tunnel is now slowly starting to emerge.”

Colin went on to say: “It was sensible for us to engage with our supporters and stakeholders to test their feelings on various matters and with the event producing such a positive discussion, it would be fair to say that the green light has now been given for us to explore a number of options for the club.

“Although at this stage in time we are not able to divulge a great deal on the subject matter of Monday’s meeting, we are optimistic that we will be able to announce some exceptionally positive plans for our home at New Grosvenor in the not too distant future.”

Concluding his thoughts on the meeting, Mr Hopkins went on to say: “This is not only a great opportunity for Lisburn Distillery Football Club and its ever expanding Academy but also for the Lisburn community in general and it is clearly our hope that the people of the Borough will support us in achieving our ambitions.”

Distillery were, of course, relegated from the top flight last season and currently 11th in Championship One.
