Dollingstown in thrillerwith Annagh United

Dollingstown started brightly playing very attractive football without any real impact in front of goals and then Annagh punished them on 10 minutes when veteran striker Shea Campbell headed them in front from a corner kick that was poorly defended.

This pattern continued for the next 15 minutes with further good goal opportunities missed and on the half hour the hard working Scott McCordick showed how it should be done when he fired low into the corner of the net.

The visitors got a lifeline when Annagh defended badly themselves from a corner allowing Jordan Gibson to head home from a corner. However the comeback was undone a minute later when goalkeeper Kris Fletcher dropped a cross from the right allowing Campbell to have a simple header for his second goal of the match.

This lead was further increased a few minutes before half time when more sloppy defending from a cornerallowed centre half Ritchy Allen to score goal number four.

Credit to Dollingstown in the second half who pulled a goal back on 46 minutes through leading scorer Ritchie Thompsonbut despite further chances being created it wasn’t until the 80th minute that Thompson again pulled the score back to 4-3 .

In injury time Dollingstown had Gibson, who had been outstanding, sent off for a strongchallenge plus sub Colin Cunningham seemed to have earned a penalty when he was brought down in the area but the referee booked him for diving.
