Dollingstown’s positive debut season

Dollingstown officials, players and guests reflected recently on the club’s first season in Irish League football.

A final placing of seventh left the former Mid-Ulster Football League champions with a solid foundation for future NIFL Championship Two campaigns.

Darren Murphy - the manager of Irish League top-flight club Dungannon Swifts - was the special guest with his wife, Sandra.

Firsts - Player Of The Year: Aaron Moffett; Young Player Of The Year: Jake Redpath; Golden Boot: Richard Thompson.

Seconds - Player Of The Year: Adam Harrison; Young Player Of The Year: Adam Harrison; Golden Boot (shared): Sammy Wright and Jason Lavery.

The club’s annual general meeting will run on Monday, June 8 from 7.30 in Waringstown’s The Planters.

Barry Taylor, the former Irish League player, has been appointed manager of the recently-formed under 17s. Taylor and club officials organised an open night in Planters Park last night (Wednesday) for anyone interested in finding out more about the youth side.
