Double figures for Town Juniors U11s

THE Town Juniors U13 Lisburn League team had a fantastic win over Lower Maze in the first round of the Shield at Cheney Park last Saturday morning.

The Juniors were defeated in the final of this competition last year and were looking to go one better this season.

The local lads showed their intent from the off and within five minutes were one up when McParland and Lennon combined well for McParland to make no mistake from close range.

Lennon and Laffin made it 3-0 with only fifteen minutes gone to put the game more or less out of reach for Lower Maze with only a quarter of the match gone.

Banbridge dominated all areas of the pitch and Gavin Fearon slammed in another two within the space of five minutes to put the Juniors five up.

With management rotating the squad and running subs on and off, Angus and Lennon finished the scoring in the first-half to leave the score 7-0 to the locals.

The second-half was played at a slower tempo as the Juniors team all looked to get their name on the scoresheet. McParland hit the the target again slotting home a great through pass from McKinstry, then Lennon put Angus in for his second and it was left to goalkeeper Kelso who was switched to centre forward for the final ten minutes to nod home the tenth and final goal for Banbridge.
