Draw the outcome as two goal lead slips away

Lurgan Town under-12s returned to league action on Saturday entertaining FC Braga who they lost narrowly to earlier in the season.

On a heavy pitch controlled football was difficult but Lurgan dominated the opening 15 minutes taking the lead when leading club scorer Dairmaid Lavery slotted home coolly after superb approach work and strong run from the back by Oliver Millar.

Braga came back into the game before half–time and was unlucky when the ball stuck in the mud on the goal line after being slipped by Finbar Berry in the Town goal.

Town dominated again the opening exchanges of the second half with a strong performance by new signing Tiernan Rooney.

Town continued to overplay the ball when passing was the better option and their lack of work off the ball created some dangerous breaks from Braga.

The second goal for Lurgan came with 10 minutes to go when Tiernan Rooney hammered in a left foot drive from the edge of the penalty area into the bottom corner. This should have finished the match but Braga had other ideas and two goals in three minutes brought them back level.

Lurgan tried in vain to get the winner in the dying minutes but the match finished 2-2.
