It was after 21 minutes when the first goal came, with a lovely lay back by Briggs from the edge of the area to Karl, who thundered a right footed shot from the outside of the area that keeper could not stop.

Four minutes later it was Briggs who crossed from the right to find Adam who volleyed the ball home from just outside the six yards, in a central position. Karl then had a one on one with the keeper that the keeper saved. Adam also had a shot saved from outside of the box.

Loughgall battled well in the first half but didn’t muster a shot on target. The defence of Nathan, Joel, Patrick and Jonnie played well. Phil and Morgan were periling the centre of midfield well.

Dromore deserved their half-time lead as the game seemed to be drifting, but things were just about to improve before the final whistle as Euan fed a great ball in, from 30 yards out left centre, that Karl ran on to and slipped the ball under the despairing keepers dive.

Changes were made for the second half with Briggs replacing Joel at centre-back and Liam coming on on the right. Loughgall had changed their shape by playing just three at the back.

They pressed forward and began to get caught on the break with Karl putting Euan clean through but his shot was saved. Loughgall pulled one back when a ball went across out goal area and two Dromore defenders missed the ball and it was slotted in at the back post.

After 10 minutes of the second half, Euan chased a ball that the right back for Loughgall was trying to ferry out for a goal kick. Euan managed to stop the ball going out, beat the defender and passed a super ball to karl who scored from 10 yards out.

Dromore then sustained a period of pressure from Loughgall who knew they had to push everyone forward.

On 14 minutes Josh made his first outstanding save with his feet. The ball came to the other end and Karl had a second one on one and fired straight at the keeper. Josh then had to tip a great shot over the bar. Five minutes later he was called into action again, to make another save with his legs.

One minute later he saved and caught a free kick. He could not save a shot from the edge of the box as Loughgall found their way through our central defence, to score. Jason then came on for Euan with 13 minutes to go and played well. Liam had a great shot then for Dromore from distance.

Dromore managed to hold out to gain a vital three points. Well done to the players who have worked so hard and played well as a team.

John and Dave are so pleased for the players, but Dave is not looking forward to his soaking next week.
