Dunloy downed as season ends

Ballyclare Comrades Reserves win the Junior Division One Championship by virtue of their 3 -1 win away to Mallusk Athletic on Wednesday Night. On Friday night Killymoon Rangers Res won the Linda Welshman Memorial Cup when defeating 3rd Ballyclare Old Boys 4 - 1

Brantwood with one league game left to play met Dunloy who were playing their final game of the season and from the start both went out looking for the win. Dunloy went in front after John John McFerran scored on the 22nd minute but then conceded a penalty on the 23rd minute which Ciaran Carson converted for Brantwood.

Brantwood then went in front after Patrick Kelly scored on the 31st minute and held this lead until Aaron Smylie scored the equaliser for Dunloy on the 73rd minute.

Brantwood took the lead for a second time when Ciaran Carson scored his second goal in the game on the 75th minute which at the end gave them the points. Referee Mr. Joe Watson

Ross Middleton put Mallusk in front after 16th minutes. Mallusk had the upper hand until they had a man sent off on the 28th minute. Ballyclare drew level when David Higgins scored on the 30th minute. Ballyclare then went in front on the 41st minute through David Higgins. Jonathan Boyd finished off a good move when scoring the all important third goal for Ballyclare on the 62nd minute. At the end the League Secretary Billy McIlroy presented the Championship Cup to Ballyclare’s Padraig Lynch. Referee Mr. Lee Patterson
