However, Banbridge lad Dylan Stewart is hoping he can earn the top reward for some big performances this week.

The tournament, previously called the Milk Cup, has been the launch pad for many a professional career.

“It gives you something to aim for,” he said, “but I’ll just keep my head down and work hard. Hopefully I can put in a couple of good performances and see what happens from there.

“I can’t wait to get going.

“We’ve been training for about eight or nine weeks now and it has been absolutely top drawer. I’ve been working with Stephen McDowell, who is a goalkeeping coach at Glentoran and that’s been great.”

Stewart made the move from Linfield to Cliftonville three years ago and since then has moved up through the club, even training with the first team.
