Coagh’s third match into their pre-season build up saw a few players added to the squad. Still out are Steven Park, Marcus Dallas, Glenn Clarke, Jason Gillespie and Steven Glasgow but Coagh really never looked in trouble, starting the match with a goal after ten minutes. New signing Tommy Elder slotted home his first of two from a pinpoint Steven Lamont cross.

The visitors came back strongly but could find no way past William Hassan and the Coagh back four. David Calderwood shuttered things up in the middle of the park but it was the genius of Jamie Tomelty that opened up the Orange men for Coagh’s second. Tomelty controlled a high ball under pressure to then weave a path through the visitors defence to slot home Coagh’s second.

If the supporters thought that was good they did not expect to be treated to a second spectacular goal from Tommy Elder. Elder’s overhead kick from Lamont’s cross had all supporters on their feet as Coagh romped to a 3-0 lead at the break.

Both sides made changes in the second period, David Nicholl replaced Mattie Kempton, Mark Taylor came on for Aaron Thornton and Simon Grimes for Steven Lamont.

As the players settled into the second half, Orangefield got a breakthrough from the penalty spot. William Hassan was close to the save but the power in William Gracey’s shot was enough to get the visitors back into the game.

This gave them fresh legs and they came close to a second after Dean Cousins broke clear but Hassan came out of goal to divert the danger.

On the break the home side took the match out of reach after David Nicholl scored from Mark Taylor’s cross. In the final minutes Orangefield’s David Tittensor scored an excellent goal on the turn from 25 yards.
