Euros kick-off at Brownlee Primary

BROWNLEE Primary School celebrated the beginning of the UEFA European 2012 Championships in style by recreating scenes from Ukraine and Poland in their own backyard.

The Primary 4’s, who have been taking part in the Irish FA Curriculum Sports Programme, designed flags prior to their very own European Championships. The tournament allowed the pupils to showcase fundamental movement skills which they have developed throughout the school year with IFA coach Justin Sheppard.

Each match placed emphasis on enjoyment and skill development rather than winning. The success of the event was marked by demonstrations of good teamwork and camaraderie from all pupils.

To conclude the day, each participant received a UEFA Grassroots certificate congratulating individuals on their performance.
