Excellent
performance sees U17s take the points

Banbridge Town U17s 3 Newry City 1

Town Juniors U17s produced an excellent performance against Newry City at the weekend taking all the three points on offer.

They were quick out of the blocks and took a deserved lead after 14 minutes when Dylan Martin received the ball from a long goal kick by ‘keeper William Dunlop, he then played a perfect through ball for David Gray to drive home past the ‘keeper.

The second was almost identical with Declan Loy providing the assist with his head from the ‘keepers long kick out for David Gray to finish smartly.

Just before half time Ryan Williamson was then fouled inside the box and Declan Loy scored from the penalty spot to make it three at the end of the half.

In the second period the Juniors continued to press and Gareth Orr was unlucky when his long range shot hit the cross bar.

Adam Dennison also went close with superb shot which was well saved by the ‘keeper but Newry got one back with 15 minutes to go.
