The Victoria Glenavon Supporters’ Club staged a quiz night in aid of Singleton, who sustained his injury on duty for Northern Ireland under 21s.

The quiz night, raffle and auction on Saturday generated over £500, with a special presentation by Victoria representatives to boost the total.

“We were delighted to make such a donation to James,” said a Victoria spokesman. “We hope it’s not too long before we see him, once again, in the blue of Glenavon and green of Northern Ireland.

“Thanks to everyone who came along and donated.

“In particular, special thanks go to manager Gary Hamilton and his backroom team, the players, board members and other supporters’ clubs.”

A joint Victoria/William Walker supporters’ bus for Dungannon Swifts on Saturday will depart from the clubrooms at 2 o’clock ahead of the league game.
