Final call for nominations for Junior Sport Awards and bursary

Sports clubs and sports people are being reminded that the submission deadline for completed nominations for the Banbridge District Junior Sports Awards is 5pm on Friday June 21.

There will be five categories of awards including Female Youth, Male Youth, Junior Team (U12), Youth Team (12 and over) and Special Olympic Athletes.

Nominations forms are available from the Civic Building, Banbridge Leisure Centre, Dromore Community Centre, Gilford Community Centre, Rathfriland Community Centre, and Donaghy’s Shoefair Sports.

Alternatively, the nomination form can be downloaded from www.banbridge.gov.uk.

Applications for the John Ingram Sports Bursary must also be received by 5pm on Friday June 21. If you are a young, budding star of the future aged 14 – 17 from the Banbridge District, who would like to give your fledgling sports career a financial boost with a £500 bursary then application forms can be requested from the council’s Leisure and Development Department on 406 60605.

Completed forms must be returned to the Leisure & Development Department at the Council Civic Building.
