Final game of the season ends in defeat for U10s

THE last George Best league match of the season was an opportunity to try a few changes in positions.

Euan and Adam started up front and Joel playing a holding role in midfield.

The first half was very competitive but against the wind Dromore was finding it hard to clear their lines and conceded two goals first half. Morgan made yet another spectacular goal line clearance.

The second half was a much better performance. Euan went to left wind and Adam to right wing with Matthew Magill slipping into centre mid with Phillip and Fynn and Matthew Briggs up front.

It was Crusaders who went 3-0 up with a individual goal from their left winger who took the ball and accelerated into the area to score.

This sparked Dromore into action. They began to pass the ball well with Matthew Magiil passing a great ball to Adam, who finished well right footed from the edge of the box, for his seventh goal of the season.

Joel was playing some delightful balls out of defence and some amazing dribbling skills were on display too.

Philip and Matthew Magill tackled hard in midfield and Matthew Briggs and Euan combining well down the left. Euan hit a great ball through to Matthew Magill. From a resulting free kick just outside the box. Philip took a quick free kick to Joel who fired the ball towards the goal. The ball broke to Matthew Briggs (the captain for the day) who netted his 9th of the season.

Although other chances came there were no further goals and Alan and Nathan and Morgan were able to keep the defence firm. Well done to Nathan who got George Best man of the match.
