Final North West side knocked out

THE North West's final representative in this year's Coca/Cola Irish Junior Cup, Maghera Strollers were beaten 4-2 at Windmill Stars, on Saturday.

While in the City Cup at the weekend Greysteel came out on top by the odd goal of seven against Drummond, Lincoln Courts had a comfortable win over Douglas Bridge while City Colts defeated Irish Street 1-0.

In the Premier Division, Draperstown remain at the bottom of the table after losing to Claudy Rovers and Burndennett comfortably defeated BBOB.

There are three Premiership games this Saturday with games also in the other two divisions as the season draws to a close.

Claudy Rovers v BBOB

Rovers got a welcome win last week which should ensure Premier Division football for another season. Their biggest problem for most of the season has been inconsistency.

The Old boys went down tamely at Burndennett last week the story of their season they may lose again.

Prediction: Claudy Rovers.

Burndennett v Roe Rovers

Nothing much to play for in this one as both sides are in mid table, the home side scored four last week and they will be confident of picking up another three points, they are always difficult to beat at home.

The Roesiders had no game last week so they will be looking forward to getting back, they have had a reasonable season but a couple of new signings for next season would help.

Prediction: Score Draw.

Draperstown Celtic Res v Drummond Utd

The home side all but ended their season in the Premiership with their defeat last Saturday. They have had a poor season with to many players not good enough, a major rethink is needed in the close season.

Drummond are merely fulfilling fixtures they lost their last chance of silverware last week when they bowed out of the City cup, they may still win this one.

Prediction: Drummond United.
