First derby ends in a stalemate

Banbridge Rangers U15s 0–0 Banbridge Town U15s

Saturday past saw the first derby match of the season between the Gers and the Town in what was a tense and hard fought game which finished goaless.

The Town started the brighter of the two teams, with more possession they began to press but the Rangers defence held firm. The first real chance of the game came through a cross from the Town left winger which was met by the head of their right back only for Craig Robinson to pull off a fine save.

Towards the end of the first half Rangers got into the game with more possession but didn’t create many clear cut chances. Rangers continued the second half as they finished the first, with better possession which lead to a number of half chances.

The Town had a couple of chances in the second half on the break but were unable to breakdown the Rangers defence. Rangers put the presser on the Town at the end of the match with several good deliveries from corners but chances were not taken.

A draw was a fair result for the game in which the defenders were the winners of the day.
