Five star Reserves progress in the Intermediate Cup

Johnny Law’s side were always in control of the game at The Showgrounds.

They made a bright start and had a goal disallowed early on after they converted from a corner, but the referee chalked it off.

The Bannsiders didn’t have long to wait though to break the deadlock as Francis put them one up.

That was quickly followed by a second from in-form striker Jamie McGonigle. He grabbed his second midway through the half tapping in from close range after some good work by Emmett Dysart.

That’s how it stayed until the second half when it was the hosts who found the net again.

This time Dysart fired in from outside the box to make it 4-0. And Dysart was on the score sheet again soon after as he slotted home after some neat work by Lee Lindsay in th ebuild up.

The visitors pulled a consolation back but it was too little too late as the wee Stripes already had the game in the bag with an excellent performance.

Johnny Law’s young side have been in great form all season and currently lead the NIFL Reserve League table by two points from Linfield in second place.

Meanwhile, any Coleraine fans travelling to this Saturday’s game against Linfield at Windsor Park should be aware of the following arrangements.

Due to the ongoing ground redevelopment Coleraine fans will enter from the Boucher Road, via the laneway into Midgley Park and then into the Kop Stand. Coleraine spectators used this stand some years ago when the North Stand was having a new roof put on.

There will be a ticket van near the demountable turnstiles for spectators to purchase their tickets.
