THIS North West Junior Cup game took place at the fourth time of asking at Scroggy Road, Limavady and the home side had one of their best games this season to progress into the next round of the City Cup.

It was a case of lots of possession but no end product for Rovers as they played some great football until the last third of the pitch where Dungiven defended in numbers and easily broke up Rovers attacks.

Rovers took the lead in the 39th minute when Tommy Hassan crossed a great ball in from a free kick on the left and Billy Doran glanced a header in.

Dungiven replied a minute later by attacking from the centre and and earning a corner that Connor O’Kane headed home.

Second half was one way traffic as Rovers pushed forward and the fleet-footed Marty Woods tortured Dungiven with his runs and started numerous attacks. Rovers had brought on Chris McInnes at the break and he took only three minutes to have an impact. Matty Hamilton delivered a great centre and Chris headed home to give Rovers the lead.

The influencial Woods then had nother mazy run that ended with a good through ball to BIlly Doran to finish. Matty Hamilton then scored the goal of the game as he saw the keeper well off his back post and from wide on the right pinged a great shot 30 yards out into the far inside post.

With 15 minutes to go Billy Doran completed his hatrick with a fine solo effort.
