INSTITUTE secured an impressive 5-1 win over fellow Championship One title contenders Carrick Rangers, at Drumahoe, this afternoon (Saturday).
An own goal from Dermot McVeigh got the Waterside men on their way before Tom Carlin and Darren McFadden made it 3-0 at the break.
Darren McCauley scored the first of his two goals just before the hour mark, the visitors’ day got worse when Ryan McCann was sent-off, but substitute Ryan Burns pulled one back for Michael Hughes’ men midway through the second half, before McCauley rounded things off from the penalty spot on 84 minutes.
