FOOTBALL: Ballymena Junior Divisions round-up

Junior Division One: FC Whiteabbey fought back from 2-1 down to claim a 6-2 win over Cookstown Olympic. Goals from Ryan O’Neill (two), Sean Derry Chris Loy (two) and Mark McCullough secured the three points.

Woodlands registered double figures with a 10-3 win at home to Desertmartin Swifts. The Carrick side’s goals came courtesy of Ross Oliver (four), Alex Haggan (two), Thomas Ogilvie (two), Paul Addis and Chris Pollock.

Junior Division Two: Gary Black scored a consolation goal for Ballyclare North End who lost 4-1 to Wakehurst Strollers.

With just four minutes left on the clock, Remo battled from 3-2 down to snatch a 4-3 win at home to Moyola Park. Eoin Bradley, John Fox, Stephen McGreevy were on target for Remo with Stevie McGregor netting the 91st-minute winner.

Junior Division Three: A first-half goal from Ryan Clawson proved enough for 1st Carrickfergus Old Boys to claim three points at Antrim Rovers Swifts.

Elsewhere, Carrick Thistle eased to a 5-0 win over Carnlough Swifts. Strikes from Philip Crozier, Glenn Shimmon (two), Ryan Clokey and an own goal made it a comfortable afternoon’s work for Thistle.

Ryan Hill, Curtis Nesbitt and Alan McVeigh were the scorers as KCC Athletic bagged a 3-0 win over Red Star.

A goal in either half from Marc Campbell and Stuart McConnell gave 3rd Ballyclare Old Boys a 2-0 success at Hillhead Eagles.

Canada Trophy (R1): Larne Olympic needed extra-time to get the better of Antrim Rovers in a 3-2 win. Darryl Brammeld put Rovers in front before Jonny McManus equalised in the 46th minute. McManus edged Olympic in front, but Darren Adair netted a 78th-minute leveller. Keith Hall scored the winner in the 103rd minute.

Canada Trophy R2: A Phil Hall hat-trick and one from Noel O’Connor gave Whitehead Rangers a 4-3 win over Ballynure OB ‘B’. Robert Watson scored all three for Ballynure.

Crawford Cup: Carnmoney FC went down 4-1 away to Cookstown RBL in round two. Craig Montgomery had put the Newtownabbey side in front but four goals from the hosts in the second session put paid to their hopes of progressing.
